Directions : TO SANDY BOTTOM

From the McDonald's restaurant at the intersection of Georgia Hwy. 515 and Georgia Hwy 5 north in Blue Ridge, follow Highway 515 east approx. .08 miles to Windy Ridge Road.  Turn right at Windy Ridge Road - go approx 0.2 miles to a three way stop - turn left - go 0.2 miles to Aska Road on your right (beside the Ace Hardware)  go south 8.5 miles on Aska Road - You will come to the metal bridge across the river -  turn left, go across Shallowford Bridge, turn right onto Shallowford Bridge Road (the road will turn to dirt) go 1.2 miles to Old Dial Road - turn right and go 0.6 miles to Sandy Bottom Canoe Take Out on the right. 

You can also come to the end of Aska to Newport Road - turn left, cross the river and at the stop sign, turn left on Old Dial Road - this is paved all except about the last haft mile and is an easy way to Sandy Bottom without all the dust.
